What Custom21 Retains

Custom21 retains ownership of proprietary internal systems that are used across all client builds. These are not client deliverables:

  • Custom21 platform application (this portal system)
  • Internal build frameworks, automation scripts, and deployment tools
  • AI prompt templates and prompt engineering systems
  • Reusable code libraries and component systems
  • Performance data, embeddings, and analytics aggregated across the platform
  • COMMAND intelligence layer and associated algorithms

Portfolio & Case Study Usage

Custom21 may use anonymized screenshots, performance metrics, and project summaries from your build in case studies and marketing materials unless you opt out in writing before launch. Your business name will only be used with your explicit written permission. To opt out, notify us at [email protected] before Day 20 of your build.

Infrastructure Ownership

During an active maintenance subscription:

  • Framer site is hosted on Custom21's Framer account (client has edit access, not account ownership)
  • Center21 account is part of the Custom21 platform and is governed by your Custom21 subscription and service terms
  • Shopify store (if applicable) is on client's own Shopify account — full ownership from Day 1

Upon cancellation, a static site export and all portable assets are delivered within the 30-day migration window. The infrastructure layer (hosting, CRM config, automation sequences) is non-portable — this is standard for managed service providers.

License Grant

Upon full payment, Custom21 grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, modify, and distribute all custom deliverables created for your project. This license survives cancellation of any maintenance subscription. You may hire any developer to modify your site code after delivery.
